The ringmaster averted his gaze from the sky to look over to see a red-haired young woman weakly waving at him. He put on a smile, glad that someone had decided to take notice of him. As he walked over, he begin to recognize the features that weren’t hidden behind her mask.
“Well…if it isn’t Mademoiselle Sparks… I’m so glad you could make it.” He made a slight bow, being careful that his half mask didn’t fall off. As he straightened himself out, he took a moment to look her over. He noted the overall dark look of her ensemble.
“That’s a lovely outfit. Certainly suits you. However, in a room decorated to be like a whimsical dreamscape, you do stand out a little. Hmm…perhaps I should’ve thought of that. Maybe then I’d become the centerpiece of the masquerade,” he chuckled.
She smiled at the compliment, and actually realized her whimsical surroundings. And indeed she stuck out like a sore thumb. Light pink crossed her face, she really hoped she didn’t attract unwanted attention with her costume.”Oh thank you, you look great as well!” She held her hands behind her back and looked slightly behind the ringmaster.”Where’s your troupe? Have you gone alone?” She queried.Head tilted to the side.Looking at him with curiosity blatantly showing upon her face.
“Of course not, mademoiselle. They’re all enjoying the other rooms that are available to them. Sadly, this does leave me in…a boring situation…” he replied softly. Slowly, his small frown began to form into a grin. “But…perhaps you can alleviate that.”
He bowed slightly, grinning up at her as he took her hand. “…may I have this dance?”
