Loyal had found himself in a room where it was themed to look like the ballroom in a castle. There were fantastic fairies and all sorts of magical creatures to give the room a more whimsical feel, and the ringmaster couldn’t help but find it amusing for the few moments that he surveyed the room.
He didn’t feel like he was having as much fun as he would’ve hoped, however. With people dancing, chatting with friends, and with no other way to attract attention, he couldn’t help but feel left out of the atmosphere. The rest of the cirque had gone off to different rooms, as they agreed they’d get to experience more of the ball in its entirety that way.
He adjusted his black cravat as he looked up at the moon outside. It wasn’t such a bad place. If anything, it was truly beautiful to behold. But looking like perfection didn’t necessarily mean it was.
For the next half hour, Monsieur Loyal was bored out of his mind.
